Tree Planted
FROM THE TREE TO THE FRUIT AND VICE-VERSA!
WE PLANT A TREE FOR EVERY POUCH SOLD
Global warming is an issue we care a lot about. One of its causes is the massive deforestation taking place in developing countries. That’s why we support and fund the nonprofit organization “The Eden project”, which will plant a tree for every packet sold.

No Waste

AGAINST FOOD WASTING
Food waste is a dramatic issue. Every year tons of food, equal to 1/3 od the world production, are thrown in the garbage.
We use fruit that would be discarded due to small aesthetic imperfections or size that don’t comply with sales requirements.

AGAINST FOOD SPOILAGE AT HOME

By giving the products a longer shelf life, freeze drying limits the risk of throwing moldy or rotten fruit in the trash.

Less emissions

We mainly source our produce from local farmers; in so doing we cut down the CO2 emissions due to raw material transportation.

GREEN TECHNOLOGY

Compared with the current freeze drying technologies, our machineries patented by Liocreo use less than half as much energyand are the result of constant optimization in order to improve their efficiency.

Carbon footprint

We calculated  the carbon footprint of our packagings by using LCA  (life cycle analysis) guidelines.

Emissions per pouche[1]:
Fruit 0.032 kgCO2
Energy 0.0224 kgCO2
Packaging 0.019 kgCO2
Shipping (and others) 0.011 kgCO2
Total: 84 g CO2/pouche

Every single tree planted captures nearly 12.3 kg of CO2/year [2]. The survival of the tree seeds planted is equal to 80% [3]. This means that each pource  helps riduce  CO2 emissions by  9.8 kg/year,  a much bigger quantity compared to the 84 g required to produce it.

Toward an eco-friendly packaging

To keep the crunchiness of our products, we need a very strong protective barrier in the pouches.  At present we can only make it by coupling layers of diffrent materials which make the packaging non recyclable.

However, we're doing our best to find a solution without any compromise in terms of  the quality.

Meanwhile, we support the recycling of raw materials. The Green Dot symbol on our products means, a financial contribution has been paid for the recovery, sorting and recycling of sales packaging.
